The Amazing Spiderman Review

I was invited to the premiere screening of The Amazing Spiderman here's a review on it:

This reboot starts from the beginning. A new British actor, a generic unknown attractive guy with that, 'I dont know im hot but all the ladies love me' is Peter Parker. We see our hero from a young age going through the pain of losing his parents because of what can only be perceived as his fathers ethical stance on animal- human cross genetics. Considering it all comes out in the end: 'Wrong decision there bro! Oh well you live and you learn... Well maybe in your case you don't.' On a total side note: Spidermans dad looked like Harry Potters dad. I think Hollywood really do have a casting type for dead dads... Who would have thought?

The film's overall pace was slow. It took an hour for Peter Parker to get all 'spiderfied' and perform some cool skate boarding acrobatics. The only analogy I could ascribe to it: Imagine having a Ferrari capable of some real vroom vroom but having to drive it in central london traffic. Whilst people maybe able to appreciate the visual beauty of your car, other than for ego purposes, this is a waste and just cant be that much fun?
The entire theme of the movie is laden with a goody two shoes vibe (I think real reviewers call this cinematography). I understand it's a hero movie but with such a predictable vibe, characters that don't have much depth to them, and to top this is off a very slowly un-ravelling story, this reboot need not be made.

Spider-man fights off the lizard dude who is played by Rhys Ifan, who plays a scientist wanting to grow an arm back, but ends up turning into a crazy psycho part lizard- part man, you know, as you do. They should totally make convicted beastialist's (Welsh people) watch this movie. Talking about the Welsh, Rhys Ifan's character is the only one with some actual depth and intricacy, and I found myself undecided if he was a bad guy with good traits or vice versa.
In the end Spiderman wins (shock horror) but the film is unashamedly left open for a sequel (shock horror). If you are going to watch this movie regardless of how bad it is, a definite strong point is that it was a visual masterpiece. The sounds, lighting, subtle 3D, scenic intricacies were all perfect, it was really beautiful on the eye, and I'm not just talking about the lead actors.

For all you sympathisers out there with your: 'What do you expect of a hero movie?'
I have 21 words: Have you seen the Batman reboots , Iron Man 1 or 2, or even the first two spidermans in the last reboot? Or more succint, in three words: 'Hello!! The Avengers??'

Overall I would argue this was most definitely not 'The Great Spiderman'. The movie had great style but not a lot of substance.  2/5... 3/5 if you dont have a mental age above 14.
