Being
in a gang like the Crips or Bloods, underneath the obvious activites: A group of people who all roll together and get up to
'mischief' for use of a better word. They have a plethora of ladies,
well using a loose definition of the word ladies, a more accurate
term maybe bitches. This reminds of a gang I had an affiliation with:
'Team
Win' - As a group they got drunk a lot. We had lots of fun probably
because we were out a lot: 6 times a week sometimes! We even had a
load of ladies who used to hang out with us, and we called them the
'Team Win bitches'. I say, we called them, they called themselves the
Team Win bitches! *playa hi5* no? Just me ? Ok, swiftly moving on...
Then
I transferred to another gang and these people compose of some of my
best friends today. We partied less and just found we had fun
spending time in, more than out. Just being together as a group was
more fun than partying. I went from partying 6 days a week to once or
twice a week. When we did party however, we did it properly. 2 of the
guys DJ'd and promoted at a club we always went to. Suffice to say
the songs we wanted got played... sometimes. Life became like a tv
show: Less Friends more Scrubs meets lazy ass but fun people who did
jack all, but sit around and have fun. A bit like TOWIE I guess. Most
of us had girlfriends, so Instead of random girls we had peripherals:
These were people who we would socialise with but were not in our
core group. We actually called people peripherals to their face and
we were actually known as The Clique. Arrogant you say? And in
hindsight I would agree. Even today, when talking to ex-peripherals
the word obnoxious is thrown around but you know what they say:
Haters going to hate
I
think my favourite bit about being in this gang was that I was not
the funny one or the creator of the fun and randomness. It really was
an ensemble of awesomeness and I was just another guy along for the
ride!
Inter-relationships,
the space-time continuum (A clever way of saying: Time) and telephone
bills managed to disintegrate our group. Well, if its a strong enough
force to affect Dr.Who what chance did us mortals have?
Now
all my best friends are part of separate groups, and it's a bit
annoying and hard to be in a gang with people I want to. At times
it's like getting oil and water to mix, it's socially hard work and
if there is one thing I hate, it's hard. Hard anything.. Except my
own penis I guess! If you are a guy stop reading... If you are a hot
girl : you know what I mean right? *wink* #inappropiate
I
want to be in a gang again, but from what I can tell times have
changed: Apparently applications now require the ability to 'shank'
someone and to do that you have to understand what 'shanking' someone
means. I might start my own gang, I vaguely remember Gary glitter
having a song, 'wanna be in my gang?'
